Outlook
Swimming Pool - The junior Olympic sized heated swimming
pool and paddling pool are open from June to August. The days
start with an early bird swim, all levels of The Lifesaving Society swimming
lessons are available throughout the day, then public swimming until
dark. Wednesdays are "Fun Night" at the pool when all the water
toys come out. Theme days are held during the summer. Previous themes
have been "Adventures Under the Sea" and "Jungle" theme.
These days include games, races, prizes and treats. The swimming pool
may be rented from 5:30 to 6:30 for a birthday party of any large group.
Phone the
swimming pool at 306-867-9131 after June 1, to rent the pool or register
for swimming lessons. SKYTRAIL, Canada's Longest Pedestrian Bridge - Outlook's newest attraction is the pedestrian bridge. The bridge is three quarters of a mile long and stands 156ft above the South Saskatchewan River. Wireless Internet - Wireless internet is available at the south end of the park only. Campsites with internet access include sites 1-26 and 40-53 and 54-65 and 66-72. Rates: $3/day, $7/week, $20/month. For access, inquire at the Park Entry Booth. Reunions and Weddings - The Outlook & District Regional Park is a beautiful setting to host events such as reunions and weddings. Located next the South Saskatchewan River and the Town of Outlook, the Park is the perfect place to celebrate special events surrounded by nature while being close to a full service town. Food Services - A variety of food, drinks, and minor amenities are available at the Concession Stand within the Park, including: slushies, pop, chips, 5 cent candies, popcorn, bug spray, sunscreen, camper toilet paper and newspapers. Historic Elm Trees - A canopy of 800-year-old American elm trees covers the park. Bird Watching - The Outlook & District Regional Park's is great for bird watching. There are many species of birds living in the park's trees, and many more that stop by to enjoy the river throughout the year. Trans Canada Trail - The scenic trails can take you from Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute, past Camp Outlook, under the SKYTRAIL, through the park and almost to the old traffic bridge. Walking the trails is a wonderful way to spend a day while in Outlook. Boating & Fishing - Canoes can be launched from an access west of the swimming pool. The rivers' extensive shoreline offers many opportunities to stop for a shore lunch. Fishermen can take advantage of the numerous walleye and jackfish found in the river. Winter Activities - The natural surroundings of the park provide ample opportunities for cross-country skiing and tobagganing throughout the winter. Click HERE for a map of the cross-country ski trails in the park. Lake Diefenbaker - Outlook is also situated only 35 minutes from Lake Diefenbaker
and Gardiner Dam. Our location makes us a great place to shop and
stay while enjoying the lake.
